All courses are trained by professional musicians of the highest
levels, nationally and internationally known. The classes are planned
on a semester base. Students who would like to attend one or more of
the courses must enrol and undergo an audition, which will enable our
instructors to assess the didactic itinerary and level for each
student.
Our first aim is to favour a friendly and immediate acquaintance with
the world of sounds.
To reach our objective our courses are designed in order to allow students to attend at
single classes of their instrument along with classes of musical
ensembles, in a friendly atmosphere suitable to create small music
reviews. Students are also given the chance to study their instrument
in our building, if rooms are available. Students must bring their own
instrument, except students for piano. The latter may lease a piano at
their apartment during their stay in Florence.
Each
semester is formed by different courses: one individual course, two
group courses of which one is ensemble music and the other is chosen
between one of the history courses and Italian language course which is
obligatory (IN COLLABORATION WITH Leonardo da Vinci school in Florence).
Besides attendance of the courses, the formative itinerary includes:
participation at a concert; a day-out excursion; a master class. The
concerts will be organized according to the didactic ne eds and the programs of the cities’ theatres.
The courses are designed for students of all levels:
1) Beginners: from the very first lesson students are trained on the
basics of music reading and writing and the execution of simple vocal
or instrumental compositions.
2) Intermediate: students will refine their technical and musical
competence, working with pieces by important musicians. Compositions
will be analyzed from the harmonic, rhythmical and melodic point of
view.
3) Advanced: students will perfect their own instrument and
interpretative qualities by means of analytical, repertory and
interpretative studies.
The courses are designed to follow the growth of the student’s musical
abilities and to achieve a high level competence in music: music
reading and writing, interaction with otherinstruments and singers,
improvement of technical and expressive skills, harmonic and structural
analysis through listening.
All students who are of outstanding interpretative merit
during the courses will be recommended to national and international
associations and music agencies.
The school decides the exam dates. Students may be excused from the
exam for particular reasons only, which will be evaluated by the school
on an individual basis.
It is highly recommended that students carry out independent studies
during the entire duration of the courses. The school offers studio
space for individual study, depending on course and room availability.
