This course provides individual instruction of the student's major performance medium.  The duration of this private lesson is one hour and pays close attention to breathing technique, tone development and vocal diction. There will be a focus on the basic understanding and development of the voice. 

The courses are designed for three different levels:

• 1) Beginners: breathing techniques, diction, support and development, simple vocalize. Repertoire: Arie Antiche, Chamber Music and Art Song.
• 2) Intermediate: more intensive study of breathing technique and proper support, diction, vocalize (scales and arpeggios). Repertoire: Bel Canto Art Song & Opera Arias (Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini).
• 3) Advanced: refining technique (support and vocal production), lyric diction including German & French, study of stage craft, vocalize (advanced scales and arpeggios) and overall song interpretation. Repertoire: Lieder; Mélodies; Italian, French and German Opera.

Midterms and Final exams
The midterm and final exam for this  course will be in the form of a concert.  Students will demonstrate their competence and musical capabilities as well as their overall progress throughout the term and their performance ability.  All singers will perform as soloists.
