Born in Parma (Italy), Leonardo De Lisi is internationally renown as a fine recitalist and operatic singer. He is regularly invited to perform throughout Europe as well as in the USA; he performs as a concert soloist under the baguette of renown conductors such as Michel Plasson, Bruno Bartoletti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni and many more. Dutch soprano Elly Ameling invited him as an honour guest to sing with her at her Farewell recital at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in January 1996. His concert, oratorio and opera repertoire is vast( from Baroque to the Modern ages).

De Lisi gives his opera debut in Vicenza at the Teatro Olimpico in 1990, in the role of Titta in the first modern performance of Le Nozze di Dorina by Galuppi. From 1992 to 1994 he is engaged as a resident member of the soloists company at the Opéra de Nice (France) and is cast in most of the productions (opera and concert) during the three seasons ( Ariadne auf Naxos, Rigoletto, Ernani, Attila, Samson et Dalila, Tristan und Isolde, Capriccio, Parsifal, Don Pasquale, Die Schöpfung, Carmen , etc.). In 1994 he devotes himself to a freelance career: he sings La Traviata at the D.G.O.S. Grand Opera in Dublin and in L'Elisir d'amore and I Pagliacci (Peppe-Arlecchino) in Padua and Livorno. He has been performing innumerable roles of the most important operas, many leading roles and world premiers throughout Europe and internationally. Just to mention a few: he sang the role of the Dandy in the world premiere of Il Paradiso degli Esuli by Bruno De Franceschi in Pisa, at the Teatro Comunale Bologna in the world premieres of Hero and Leander by Fabrizio Festa and Codice Mosé by Claudio Scannavini., Tom Rakewell of The Rake's Progress by Stravinsky in Reggio Emilia; La Scala di Seta by Rossini for the Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing, touring in Reims, Orléans, Paris et Besançon and many others.

Furthermore Leonardo De Lisi is prize-winner of nine singing competitions amongst which are the Grand Prix "A. Roussel" de la Mélodie française at the "Concours de la Plaine Atlantique" in Nantes (1989), "Découverte" de la Fondation France Télécom 1993 (Première Tournée), First Prize Lied category at the " I.V.C. 's-Hertogenbosch Singing Int. Competition", Holland (1994), First prize at "Concorso Internazionale di Canto C.A. Seghizzi" Gorizia, Italy (1998).

His recitals and opera performances have been recorded and broadcast by several European TV Radio Companies, such as Radio France, Radio Classique, RAI, ORF, Bayerischer Rundfunk, BBC, and Dutch National Television. Among his CD recordings are 1993 "Dynamic Records" (Italy) Schubert Lieder ; 1995 Songs by Mario Castelnuovo - Tedesco "Vocalia" (Florence); 1996 -1999 complete songs by Ottorino Respighi (3 Cd's) "Channel Classics" Amsterdam; 1999 La Rondine by Puccini "Kicco Classics"; 2001 Werther by Blangini "Nuova Era Records"; 2002 complete songs by Francesco Cilèa, Il sogno di Rosetta by Mussinelli for "Bongiovanni; 2003 Big Bang Circus by Ambrosini "Stradivarius Records".

Leonardo De Lisi starts studying the piano, composition and classical voice training at a very young age. He graduated with Honours from the Padua Conservatory (Opera, 1988) and the Parma Conservatory (Art Song and Oratorio, 1992). He also attends the Irwin Gage Lied Interpretation Class at the Zürich Music Academy and several master classes with renown artists as Ileana Cotrubas, Elly Ameling, Gérard Souzay, Dalton Baldwin, Lorraine Nubar, Sherman Lowe. Furthermore, De Lisi holds a university degree in literature and languages.

He is now also a much sought after teacher for Art Song and Oratorio Interpretation and currently teaches at the Florence Conservatory.

PARTICIPATION
The course is open to opera singers. Participants can be of any nationality and age.
In the framework of this course the student will select and execute operatic arias and Italian vocal Chamber music (art songs). The master class will consist of both individual lessons and collective workshops. A pianist will be available for accompaniment.
